August 2025

Dear Field Families,

I hope this message finds you and your family enjoying a joyful and restful summer! As we prepare to begin the 2025–2026 school year, I’m filled with excitement and gratitude to serve as the new principal of Field. While I’ve already had the honor of introducing myself to the community, I want to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to what I know will be a fantastic school year.

The energy on campus is already building, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining a school community so full of dedication, tradition, and heart. I am ready to partner with you and our amazing staff to make this year one where every student feels valued, challenged, and celebrated.

Staff Update

Over the summer, we had the opportunity to hire staff for a few of our positions. Please join me in welcoming our new staff to the Field Family this 2025-2026 school year.

  • Leanne Buikema-  1st Grade Teacher

  • Vanessa Johnson- 2nd Grade Teacher

  • Susan Foster-  Resource Teacher

  • Heather Sherman- Social Worker

  • Carly Rogero- School Psychologist (Mondays only)

  • Aidan Cacek- Music Teacher

  • Kiley Pandolfo- ELD Teacher

We have a couple of Paraprofessional positions to fill, and are currently working on those. Our updated staff list can be found here. Thank you for helping to welcome our new staff to the Field Family!

Annual Family Check-In

Please remember to complete the Annual Family Check-in through the Infinite Campus parent portal.  Log in to Infinite Campus, click on “More” and “Annual Family Check-in.” This is your yearly opportunity to update emergency contact information, school permissions, health information, and family changes.

Family Communication Tool: Talking Points
We will be using TalkingPoints as our primary communication tool (this will replace communication coming through Infinite Campus from the office and staff). This platform will enable families to send and receive messages in their preferred language. Families can use either text messaging or the TalkingPoints app. We started using Talking Points in August 2024, and this will be our main communication tool moving into the 25-26 school year.

To help get started, please visit Talking Points

Meet and Greet - Open House

On Monday, August 11th, you are invited to stop by for our open house between 3:30-5:30pm. This is an opportunity for students to drop off their supplies and meet their teacher. Supply lists can be accessed here on our website.

We would like to provide you with some information regarding how to view your child’s classroom placement (homeroom teacher) for the coming year. When you log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal, you will select your child and then go to schedule to view this year’s classroom teacher. If you are in need of support with the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact our front office.

First Day of School Information

The First day of school for grades 1st-5th is Tuesday, August 12th, from 7:50 am to 11:50 pm. Lunch will be served on the first day of school.

Please note: Wednesday, August 13th will be our first PLC Late Start. Every Wednesday will follow the PLC Late Start Schedule for the remainder of the year. School begins one hour later every Wednesday morning (8:50 am - 2:45 pm).

The first day for our Kindergarten students will be Thursday, August 14th, with a full day of school. August 12th and 13th are reserved for individual student assessments, which have been scheduled with families.

School Day Reminders
Our school day is from 7:50 am-2:45 pm, with the exception of Wednesdays. On Wednesdays, our school day is from 8:50 am-2:45 pm.

Each morning, we will continue with our soft start procedure (including the first day of school). During soft start, students are able to enter school between 7:35-7:50 am (M/T/Th/F) and 8:35-8:50 am (W).

Thank you for helping us to ensure students are not on campus prior to 7:35 am as there is no supervision before that time. Please take a moment to access the 2025-2026 School Year Calendar for important dates.

Device Free Classrooms (Policy JICJ)

At the end of the 23-24 school year, the Littleton Public Schools Board of Education approved LPS Board Policy JICJ, a new Personal Technology Device (PTD) Policy. This policy was implemented in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Due to this, students will not be allowed to use personal devices (including cell phones and smart watches) during the school day. These devices must be kept in backpacks during school hours. Below is an excerpt from the policy:

For purposes of this policy, "personal technology device" (PTD) includes any privately owned portable technology device, including but not limited to cell phones, wearable technology, cameras, and all other hand-held electronic communication and data storage devices.

Students shall not access PTDs during instructional periods except at the teacher's discretion. Teachers shall seek approval from their administration for limited student access to PTDs. In elementary and middle schools, PTDs are to remain in the student's locker or backpack, turned off or silent, the entire academic day.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we work to enhance the opportunities for learning and engagement in the classroom!

Student Code of Conduct

The board has adopted a Code of Conduct for all students attending Littleton Public Schools. This is the basis for our implementation of behavior expectations and discipline at Field. Please feel free to review the document, which you agreed to in your LPS registration/family check-in, as a reminder of student expectations.

Nutrition Services Update

Continuing this school year, all students will have access to free meals regardless of their learning environment or family financial situation. Beginning on the first day of school, August 12th, 2025, students will have the opportunity to eat both breakfast and lunch free of charge. For more information, please visit the LPS Nutrition Services website. While all students are eligible for free lunch, we encourage families to fill out the school benefits application in order to be considered for additional benefits and waived district fees.

If you would like your child to eat breakfast at school, please make sure they arrive between 7:35-7:50am. Please remember that Field Elementary has breakfast in the classroom. We will continue this practice to ensure students are ready for Front Porch (Social Emotional Learning) right after breakfast!

SACC Fall Registration

Registration for fall LPS SACC Programs is completed through SchoolCare Works.  Please click here  for the SACC webpage, and click here for Registration Information for the Fall.

Arrival and Dismissal Reminders

We kindly ask all families to follow staff instructions and posted signage when using the drop-off and pick-up loop. Your commitment to observing our orange cones, blocked areas, and safety protocols helps keep everyone—especially our students—safe during these busy times. Also, please remember to stay off of your cell phones during this time. If you are picking up your student in the afternoon, remember to wait patiently in your vehicle for your child to be dismissed from the line and sent to you. Thank you for your cooperation!

Student Birthdays

We will support the District Board Policy ADF, promoting healthy food choices for students. Due to allergies and other health concerns, please help us by not bringing in food for birthday celebrations. Non-food items are welcome if you choose to do that; please check with the classroom teacher.
